It’s that time of the year when we all make those New Year Goals, so determined that this year we will keep them, and we will achieve our Game Plan.
By the end of January many of us have stumbled and forgotten all about our Goals or have become so caught in the day to day that we don’t have time to follow up on our objectives.
I am like everyone else; I get so caught up in overwhelm just thinking about how I am going to achieve my Game Plan. I have a little note on my PC that reminds …. “Remember, you don't have to get it perfect, you have to get it going.”
Take a step back and let's break things down and find more time to prioritize and focus on your goals.
Let's visualize for a moment…
Imagine it is the end of 2021…
You've made the absolute most out of your time and maintained your resolutions and goals, and CRUSHED them… MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
What 3-5 things did you do during that time that really set your goals in motion and helped you remain steady?
Now break those things down into 3 or 4 actionable, clearly defined steps. Add those steps to the top of your to-do list and priorities for this week. Keep going until you know you'll accomplish what you set out to do for 2021.
When you take the time to prioritize your goals, you'll find that your Game Plan is taking shape. After months or years of stalling. You’ve finally created time and prioritization around what it takes to make it happen.
Here's what I really want you to take away from this…
If you continue to wait until you have enough time, you'll never do it. You'll give up a month in.
If you put off meaningful but non-urgent things until you have "enough time" to do them, they won't ever happen.
Put some urgency behind your actions. If it's going to happen, then it needs to happen now.
There's really never been a better time to get started on your goals.
So what are you waiting for?
